Mesmerised, my debut novel, was first published in 2013 by Indigo Dreams Publishing. When I received the acceptance for publication email in October, 2012, I was in Pune, India, sitting in the lobby of the hotel I was staying at because I didn’t have access to the internet in my room. I was studying at the Iyengar yoga Institute at the time and it was absolutely thrilling to have received the news between classes. One year later, almost to the day, Mesmerised was in print and on the shelves. By December it had reached number two in the UK Amazon chart for medical fiction. The original cover comprised of a photograph taken from a reproduction of Edouard Manet’s, Le Dejeuner sur l’herbe, between two ivory bands; the one above bearing the name of the novel and the one below, my name.
I am delighted that Red Door Press, who have published my second novel, Song for Ria, also wanted to bring out a second edition of Mesmerised. One of the conditions for releasing the novel from the original publishing agreement was that we change the front cover. Mesmerised’s beautiful new cover was designed by Kari Brownlie and speaks for itself.
